letting go and hopefully getting a good one

No matter how much we would want to hold on to something, we would eventually find ourselves in the "letting go" phase. I'm talking about our sound system at home. It actually belonged to my husband because he bought it during his bachelor days. He said it has huge sentimental value because it took more than a year of saving some money from his salary to be able to buy it. We had pretty good use of it until it was already time to lay it on the side. Just when we needed one so we can have something we can use to train our daughter with her singing, we now no longer have anything to use. Well, not really. We do have a headset that she can use to sing along to a downloaded mp3. However, there are more things that our family can do and appreciate with a high-quality sound system. I initially got worried about the cost if we were to buy one pretty soon but I got pacified when I started comparing prices online. It's good to have more options, isn't it? I guess I'll

daughter's awesome school performance

Image
Just this month, I was one of those excited moms who want to see their daughter perform for the first time in school. This was on the occasion of the culmination of Buwan ng Wika . I'm sure moms could relate to how I feel when I watched my daughter holding the microphone and hear her sing in front of the audience in school. Although I am already used to hearing her sing at home, it's a different feeling to watch her perform for an audience other than her mom and dad. And even though it was not much of a big audience, somehow I am still proud that I didn't see any hint of stage fright from her. Gradually, I think she's building her confidence. Perhaps it has also helped that there were four of them singing the ' Pilipinas Kong Mahal ' song. What I found a little funny, though, was that she didn't think of sharing the microphone with her classmate, like she was only doing a solo.  I am not also sure if they have rehearsed this. Well, what can you expect from a

got my brother's attention

It is good to be writing about music and guitars as topic as I am already assured of an audience because I'll get my younger brother's attention. In my last post, I have mentioned about my dream guitar and he sent me a message about how awesome it would be if he can buy it for me as his birthday gift. He said he is also thinking of getting an electric guitar for himself. Indeed, an electric guitar should be perfect for him since he wants to be able to play great music with his band again; although, right now, he is still focused on his new job abroad. Hopefully, when he's back for good, he'll get to play with his band mates again; that is, if they're still around.

another act of kindness

I didn't expect to experience another act of kindness last week. When it was time for me to go home from work, I was quite thankful I was offered a ride from someone who lives just almost close to home. This is such a big thing for me as I thought I'm going to have to commute and to wait patiently for my turn to get a ride via a V-Hire service in SM. I was pretty much hoping and praying that I'll reach home earlier than usual since my daughter wasn't feeling quite well. I am genuinely thankful for this person - he could have chosen not to bother to ask but he did because he knew, if I had to commute, it's going to take me long to get home because of traffic. It was like the Lord has moved this person to ask me if I need a lift. Truly, God is amazing.

what our daughter would need pretty soon

Ever since Dippy started school, we always see to it that we have the time to help her with her projects and assignments. So far, we're doing better. All the three of us are quite a team. One thing we did not anticipate, though, was the probability of having to work on a project which needed to be submitted in the morning. There wouldn't have been a problem with it if we were able to check her assignment notebook right after she came home from school. However, we only saw it in the later afternoon since we thought her assignments are only about writing. Thus, when the project required some printing, we were almost clueless on what to do since we don't have a printer. Just when we were about to go and inquire from a computer shop nearby about their overnight printing service, I suddenly remembered we have a neighbor/ex-officemate who owns a printer. Thankfully, this neighbor was still online and all it took was a quick chat with him before we sent him the project to be prin

Drama much?

Many times, in this walk through life, our faith in the Lord keeps getting tested. So many trials came our way yet we've always surpassed them. Gradually, one by one, we were able to weather our storms. And while there are still more battles to hurdle, we're going to take it as positively as we can. After all, that's just what makes this life even more exciting and challenging! :-) We have always known that it's because of God that we're getting help from people at the right time that we needed them. Sometimes, we didn't even have to ask God for these things. Whether these are financial blessings, work opportunities, or some random acts of kindness from people we didn't expect to do them for us, all these just came in perfect timing! This is why nothing worries me that much anymore (although I can't help myself from being emotional sometimes because that's just the way I am). Whatever the future holds – I will keep reminding myself that I should no
