woke up to the sound of the girl

I woke up a few hours earlier than I intentionally planned today. No, let me correct that. A few minutes before 4AM today, someone woke me up because she needed to attend to the call of nature. I checked our watch and it's still an hour before I would have wakened up to the sound of the alarm clock. Anyway, I love the sound of my daughter waking me up for an urgent need to pee better than that annoying alarm clock. And I also love it that even at an unusually early hour of the day, she had remembered what I told her before that she should tell us any time she feels like going to the bathroom to answer the call of nature. In fact, I am so glad that we never had to put so much effort with potty training. It was like she just realized one day she didn't want to wear diapers anymore or that she thinks she's old enough to wear one. I also realized just how quickly the time has gone by just seeing her getting back to sleep today. Ah, she is getting bigger and taller! Now, I already have a preschooler. She is such a wonderful, wonderful blessing to husband and me. I am just thankful to God for everything - then, now and the future.

After giving birth, I must confess that some things are happening with my body that I have very little to no control of. Among other things, it seemed like my bladder could not always do its part of holding up urine a little longer than it used to. I am talking about urinary incontinence. I thought incontinence can only be experienced by the elderly or those that are already past their retirement age but I was wrong. I didn't even think that a laughter can trigger a flow from my bladder. This actually bothered me for awhile but after a few reads on the Internet and after a word from a doctor (especially), I was somehow appeased. Many times I wonder if there is really some truth to that thing called "7-year itch" in marriage. I heard it is that stage when couples will purportedly experience too much familiarity with each other that would somehow cause a serious stir in their relationship. Like most people, that is not something that I look forward to happening in the next 2 years. Of course, I would like to believe that there is no such thing as a "7-year itch".
