Jim Carrey's Moving Speech at MUM - Packed with Great Wisdom (and Some Humor)

Here's an even great reason to love Jim Carrey . I actually just came across his touching video tonight, taken while he was delivering a speech to the graduating students of 2014 at a prestigious university (Maharishi University of Management). His speech was really something, huh! Now, I wonder where was I when this video started circulating on the web? Indeed, this man rightfully deserves the recognition, an honorary degree, he received from the university. At one point in my life, I thought he's just one funny celebrity guy that can help erase people's problems (while watching his movies) but there's actually more to him than just being that. The video, as of this writing, has already reached close to 3 million views. And if you are not one of those who have already watched it, I'm sharing the video of his full speech here. Watching it should be well worth our time.. In fact, I really thought we should keep playing this over and over, if only to make sure that

Drama much?

Many times, in this walk through life, our faith in the Lord keeps getting tested. So many trials came our way yet we've always surpassed them. Gradually, one by one, we were able to weather our storms. And while there are still more battles to hurdle, we're going to take it as positively as we can. After all, that's just what makes this life even more exciting and challenging! :-) We have always known that it's because of God that we're getting help from people at the right time that we needed them. Sometimes, we didn't even have to ask God for these things. Whether these are financial blessings, work opportunities, or some random acts of kindness from people we didn't expect to do them for us, all these just came in perfect timing! This is why nothing worries me that much anymore (although I can't help myself from being emotional sometimes because that's just the way I am). Whatever the future holds – I will keep reminding myself that I should no

on loving and hating the rainy days

I have a love-hate relationship with the rainy days.  I do love the rainy days because this is one of those times when I can enjoy a sip of hot coffee at home. It's also a perfect time to be lazy - to just curl up in bed and get relaxed. Moreover, I am a nicer person when it's raining. I'm always in a good mood because I am able to relax, eat and sleep well. When it's raining, husband and I can save some water for watering the plants. The rain also takes care of this chore for us. :-) But don't you just hate it when it's raining and you're still on your way to work?  Well, except when you have a car that doesn't get stuck in the flood, going to work when it's raining is really no fun at all, right? It can also be quite a challenge to not get your clothes and your shoes wet. Let's not even talk about the challenge of coming to the workplace on time. Sometimes, it's just too tempting for me to call in sick so I don't have to brave the hea

Chasing Happiness, Are We?

Image
I feel like making another blog update today because I bumped into a happiness quote being shared on Facebook. This is a good thing about social networks, you get inspired by the positive things that are being spread around. Photo: Not Mine Indeed, happiness in this walk through life is hard to achieve and this is due to the fact that most of us are bound to seek it only for ourselves. We tend to look for it for our own benefit. However, if we start wanting this happiness to be felt by the people around us and actually doing something about it, this feeling will simply resonate with us. Let's not also forget that it is not through material or financial things that can give permanent/ultimate happiness. It is the peace within ourselves that can bring about that feeling. No one else can make us feel that way but God in His goodness and grace. A blessed Sunday to all of us.

Change. We all want to change for the better but, at times, it is such a struggle to be able to successfully do so; but once you finally found the courage to take the first step towards the process of "change", everything else will soon follow... hopefully, with God's will and guidance. However, it is always possible to find yourself falling into the trap of going back to the previous state you are in. You might feel tired about your failed attempts at changing because you would always find yourself back at square one rather than progressing towards the finish line. And you will then start to wonder and ask yourself, "Why did I mess it up, again?" Of course, it is easy to figure out why you failed because you will be able to assess the consequences of your failed attempts. On the brighter side, you can always start again - 'more intelligently', as Henry Ford puts it. Today, with the help of God, I am changing. I am starting again more intelligently to

a coffee-inspired life, anyone?

I ran into this beautiful video presentation about seeing life through a cup of coffee. I'd like to share it with you guys so we can all have a coffee-inspired life. :-) I guess, at some point, we are guilty for choosing the best cups even if what we really wanted was the coffee. Today, I resolve to enjoy  my coffee everyday even when they are not served from the best cups! Care to drink with me?

my baby at eleven months

My walk through life blog presents... Dipdip at eleven months old! This only means one thing -- One more month and she'll turn a year old! :-) Yes, she just turned eleven months and she's such a talker! Only that the right words won't come out from her mouth just yet. Watch this video only if you want to see it. Thanks! :-)
