Jim Carrey's Moving Speech at MUM - Packed with Great Wisdom (and Some Humor)

Here's an even great reason to love Jim Carrey. I actually just came across his touching video tonight, taken while he was delivering a speech to the graduating students of 2014 at a prestigious university (Maharishi University of Management). His speech was really something, huh! Now, I wonder where was I when this video started circulating on the web? Indeed, this man rightfully deserves the recognition, an honorary degree, he received from the university. At one point in my life, I thought he's just one funny celebrity guy that can help erase people's problems (while watching his movies) but there's actually more to him than just being that.

The video, as of this writing, has already reached close to 3 million views. And if you are not one of those who have already watched it, I'm sharing the video of his full speech here. Watching it should be well worth our time.. In fact, I really thought we should keep playing this over and over, if only to make sure that we have allowed his words of wisdom to sink into our subconscious and apply it to our lives. Truly, in this walk through life, we have to take some risks in order to succeed. After all, as the saying goes, and let me quote it in here: "A ship in the harbor is safe, but that's not what ships are built for."

how are you holding up?

After giving birth, I must confess that some things are happening with my body that I have very little to no control of. Among other things, it seemed like my bladder could not always do its part of holding up urine a little longer than it used to. I am talking about urinary incontinence. I thought incontinence can only be experienced by the elderly or those that are already past their retirement age but I was wrong. I didn't even think that a laughter can trigger a flow from my bladder. This actually bothered me for awhile but after a few reads on the Internet and after a word from a doctor (especially), I was somehow appeased. To be honest, my urinary incontinence experience came to a point that I had to rely on these diapers and nappies for adults for awhile but after following a few exercises ( Kegel exercises) that can help strengthen the muscles in my pelvic area, I was able to manage it well. that's my dad

I am not sure if I have mentioned in any of my posts that my father is a professional mechanical engineer and that he works at a sugar milling company. Career-wise, he actually had humble beginnings where he started from a mere rank and file employee who works hands-on with bearings,  vise accessories and other industrial supplies and equipment that I am not familiar with, until he got promoted to a supervisory position. Today, even when he is already past the age of retirement, he is still working, although now I heard he is already holding a consultancy position (sort of). I am proud of my dad's achievements especially that I am aware that he worked really hard to earn his title. He's not from a well-to-do family; so, he had to work his way to get to college. I remembered even when he already got promoted in supervisory level, he's still willing to do manual labor if he deemed it necessary.
