Drama much?

Many times, in this walk through life, our faith in the Lord keeps getting tested. So many trials came our way yet we've always surpassed them. Gradually, one by one, we were able to weather our storms. And while there are still more battles to hurdle, we're going to take it as positively as we can. After all, that's just what makes this life even more exciting and challenging! :-)

We have always known that it's because of God that we're getting help from people at the right time that we needed them. Sometimes, we didn't even have to ask God for these things. Whether these are financial blessings, work opportunities, or some random acts of kindness from people we didn't expect to do them for us, all these just came in perfect timing! This is why nothing worries me that much anymore (although I can't help myself from being emotional sometimes because that's just the way I am). Whatever the future holds – I will keep reminding myself that I should not be shaken and I should not doubt or complain because God is in control. He will guide us to make the right decisions. So, it is only right to seek His guidance and lift everything up to Him. Even if we fail at one point, there may also be a purpose to it. What matters is that we're ready to get up and fight 'til the end.

Drama much? Nah, I'm just writing from the heart. :-)

used to be a dream and still is (somehow)

When I was still single, I had this crazy dream of becoming a musician someday. I wanted to be someone who can sing, play the guitar, and compose some songs. No matter how hard I tried, though, my voice just wasn't good enough to deserve any audience, attention, or praise. Still, my love for music was so great that I wanted to learn how to play the guitar so I can go ahead with composing and creating songs. At that time, I got to learn how to play a few songs that only make use of the basic chords like A-D-A-G, C-G-Em-F. I didn't get to learn a lot after that, though, since I am only able to practice whenever friends or neighbors would lend me their guitars. Now, I thought it would have been great if I found the time and money to pursue what I loved to do back then. Even if I won't make a career out of it, I would have practically enjoyed doing it as a hobby and then I would be able to pass what I've learned to my musically inclined daughter! Well, it's not yet too late to own one, right?

spam calls are on the rise

Lately, I've been getting spam calls from my cell phone. I call them spam calls because, just like most junk e-mails, they're all unsolicited. What is not so right about it was that they are representing on behalf of a bank or insurance company. In fact, today, someone called me up and he said he is from a reputable bank. He even challenged me to verify his identity through a hotline number he randomly dictated. He said he called to offer automatic approval of credit card that's designed for women. Take note, it's automatic approval because I didn't apply for it but the person on the phone told me I am qualified and I get approved but only if I spare 3 minutes of my time to give him the important information that he needs. Hmmmm… Sounds fishy, right? He probably thought I would fall for it. I thought if he's from some reputable bank, he wouldn't have used a mobile number to begin with. When I declined and told the caller that I'm at work and won't be entertaining calls like that anymore, he apologized and hung up; but then after an hour or two, a new number is calling and a different voice is talking to me again for the same purpose. I'm not usually the type who is rude to people on the phone but I guess this is just one of those times that I really have to because they're just too annoyingly persistent and they're wasting my time. I wonder which part of my "NO" did they not understand? Even if they're genuine bank representatives, I tried to politely tell them I'm not interested. And who's been sharing my number to these spam callers? Now I'm really close to getting a new number. Blocking numbers wouldn't help since they can always use another disposable one.

a classmate's jewelry business

A former classmate of mine runs a jewelry shop. It used to be his father's business for many years. He took over when his dad expressed his intention to retire. It's also a good thing that he had the interest in running the business. It can be seen in his unique and beautiful designs of jewelries - from wedding rings to earrings. Because of his passion, the transition of ownership from father to son was a success. In fact, he was able to open a few more branches of their shop outside the city. With his great designs, I believe he has a chance to widen his target market if he brings this business Online. After all, people are already buying jewelries on the internet, all in the name of convenience.

on loving and hating the rainy days

I have a love-hate relationship with the rainy days.  I do love the rainy days because this is one of those times when I can enjoy a sip of hot coffee at home. It's also a perfect time to be lazy - to just curl up in bed and get relaxed. Moreover, I am a nicer person when it's raining. I'm always in a good mood because I am able to relax, eat and sleep well. When it's raining, husband and I can save some water for watering the plants. The rain also takes care of this chore for us. :-)

But don't you just hate it when it's raining and you're still on your way to work?  Well, except when you have a car that doesn't get stuck in the flood, going to work when it's raining is really no fun at all, right? It can also be quite a challenge to not get your clothes and your shoes wet. Let's not even talk about the challenge of coming to the workplace on time. Sometimes, it's just too tempting for me to call in sick so I don't have to brave the heavy rain and traffic when coming to the workplace. Yet, I also don't like it when it's raining hard when I am at home because power outage in our area will usually follow. It sucks to be at home with no electricity because we're relying on it for our water utility.

Yes, the rainy days can be such a good thing, although it can be annoying, too. In life, I don't let the annoyance of the rainy days get me. I'll just look forward to the rainbow that follows it.
