reminiscing on the old times

I'm here again reminiscing on the old times. My thoughts are now bringing me back to the day when Stephen, together with his family, went over to my parents' house in Medellin to ask for my hand in marriage. Well actually, I rode with them on a two hour drive from the city to be their road map.

It was nothing too formal, by the way. Just some casual talk, a few drinks and some karaoke for a little entertainment I couldn't believe this was all happening right in our living room. Yes, the living room was my favorite part of the house because it was where the family would sit down to watch tv together or to talk about a lot of things.

I then realized that we were all sitting there full house to discuss about getting married. That was the first time that Stephen's parents visited our humble abode that I had wished we had them seated comfortably on a beautiful Modern Furniture because I really want to make a good impression when I don't really have to because Stephen's parents and even the rest of his family were all cool and A-okay that you would really look forward to have them as in-laws. To tell you the truth, I was just feeling nervous and a little awkward (even at the age of 30, huh!) that I have finally come to the point of discussing our marriage plans.

I was really glad we pulled it off. My parents and his parents were all cool with the idea of us getting married and letting us decide for almost everything about the wedding.

  1. you know our story sis, right? LOL!

Anyway, it was only my hubby who went to our province to ask for my hand as his parents were out of the country. i haven't even met my in-laws (except his brother who lives in the PI). i still don't know how to react when i finally meet my parents-in-law. hehehe.

  2. yeah, you mentioned it somewhere hehehe :-) don't worry about your first meeting with the parents-in-law, they're not going to bite you, so just be yourself. :-)

  3. That is a great memory! I'm glad that your families get a long, it sounds like you both fit comfortably into each other's lives -- that is ideal!
